God's Treasure Chest

"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." Psalms 119:11 NIV

As a kid, I loved to read pirate stories. They had action, adventure, and treasure. A lot of times, there was also a map that led to where it lay hidden. While there is never a documented case of loot buried in Indiana, it never stopped me from dreaming, wishing, and searching.

There is a more fabulous treasure than any pirate loot; that is God's divine word. We should bury it deep in our hearts and not let it lie unused, but recall it and use it. The scriptures serve as a map that leads to untold spiritual wealth and deliverance from sin if followed. There is not just one "X" with a buried trove chest, but every verse produces treasure.

God, we give thanks for your divine word. As we read it, let it become buried in our hearts. Please help us to not only remember the scripture but to recall and live them. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Tim
